To be honest I found it easier to remove the bumper and headlight after the H15 bulb broke than the struggling I had done previously trying H7 LEDs and changing them all to uprated H15 & H7 bulbs. It was the same with my MK4 Golf, bumper off headlight out, change bulb

H7's are plug and play. They have seperate DRL's just like H4. Only thing you might want to do after fitting is change the coding so the dipped beam stays on when you turn on high beam. Have a look at @Loz post here https://www.t6forum.com/threads/t6-headlight-bulb-upgrade.40638/#post-551011

The original VW non led lights the fault is not seen. Thq lights the fault is seen even on a second replacement unit. Fault seen on thq is when brake light illuminated, Drl lights or parking lights are not illuminated on one side. Recovers after brake released. Drl and parking lights share...

Just to say when I first fitted bulb all was good no warning light and drl working it was only an hour later when I actually started engine the warning light came on and bulb knackered

I only got upgraded H7s for the dipped, as that's where the real improvement over H4s is, and kept the original H7s in the main beam.

They're the ones, I think @ginkster went the same way too, didn't fancy LED's in main and dipped due to potential MOT issues etc.

Someone else posted about DRL checks only being for vehicles 2018>. Not sure what happens if there’s a bulb warning on the dash. Possible to code out, I understand. This is from DVLA website: If it’s safer with, then I’ll keep my 2016 DRLs in good working order.
