Thank you - and would you advise getting the outstanding issues fixed with VW first? Apologies I have no idea how the "system" works, all I know is they tell me the boot delay issues are caused by the SOS module -and an independent VW specialist said it was more likely the "5F" module

Maybe because it is an Australian model and we don't have DAB or SOS it is not connected. I have looked everywhere and no other connectors for it to plug into. Thanks

Mines just been in for a fix but f this. They had to order a new unit. But sorted now.

I had a similar wait time when the heater resistor failed in the first winter of ownership.....they would only replace it under warranty if the van came into the workshop to 'diagnose' but they were booked up for 4 months. There’s 6.1 vans with this issue, left right and centre. Bowden cable campaign wouldn’t affect anything to do with sos unit.

Go to your local dealer. Chances are it will need a replacement SOS control unit.
