The two sockets on the dash are powered off the leisure battery, but I suspect your right with respect to the power transfer between the starter battery and leisure is voltage dependent, not if the engine is running. But I have confirmed the EHU doesn't charge the starter battery.

Ctek MXS 5.0 and Ctek D250se

Having recently spent 4 nights away in the van, parked up but with EHU for the leisure side of things, we suffered from the dreaded low battery warning when starting the engine to come home. Having spent much time reading various threads here, I purchased the MXS 5.0 trickle charger. I took...

    Dellmassive`s Camper Van Adventure

yes, looking back to the original sketch here : Dellmassive`s Camper Van Adventure ill have a quick disconnect on the starter battery , and the leisure battery. so ill be able to connect to either just by plugging it in. i have a few Victron IP22 & IP65 chargers that i can use, but...

    Camper electrics

All that will happen with a normal EHU set up is that the hook up charges the battery, and the battery supplies the fridge, lights etc as normal. So when you're on hookup, you will technically be running everything off the hookup even though it it's all running via the battery. If you've got a...

    Charging Ebikes off grid.

Check the listed output figures. 4A at 240v is 960W, which would give a charge rate greater than 1C for your 625Wh battery. 4W is probably the 110v rate - most chargers work on anything from 110v to 240v. The output figures will be a better guide - something like 8A at 40V. That would tell us...

Revolution Ricos T6.1 2021 plate - electrical faults

If none of your chargers are working then how is your battery fully charged? How are you checking that each individual charger is working or not and the battery is fully charged - I don't disbelieve you but if we know the exact tests done it might give some more clues. In particular how are...

    Fridge issues

So the Victron charger isn't the charger that works from the EHU/240v - that one is built into the Sargent unit. The Victron Orion is your DC-DC charger that chargers your leisure battery from the van - you can tell this as it's currently telling you it's not charging as the input voltage isn't...

    Installing a Powerpart PDU

So just take out the 25a leisure fuse on the front will prevent it from attempting to charge the LB when on EHU? That’s great news if that’s all that’s needed. Like you said, I’ll probably be okay just on the lithium LB, but sometimes we will need to use an induction plate or hairdryer etc...

    Installing a Powerpart PDU

Yeh i have the same on my panel. I can see the voltage go up on the LB when the engine starts. but it doesnt rise when the engine is off and the 240v ehu is then plugged in and switched on, was wondering whether a clamp meter around one of the cables coming out the back of the pdu would...

    Newbie battery charger questions

    1) If the leisure battery is isolated from loads it shouldn't discharge significantly - if you left everything on (especially a fridge) then it will 2) yes dropping below 50% charge damages lead acid very quickly for starter batteries and quickly for leisure 3) plenty of advice via search...

    Westfalia Club Joker electrics

Are you sure the 70aH doesn't refer to the vehicle (starter) battery? It would make sense from your quoted voltages. EDIT: The Westfalia website currently says "Battery 95aH" which would confirm this. So, the real question is why your leisure battery is dropping to 11.4v, and why it...

Hello All, We have just recently purchased our first newly converted T6 Van and honestly we have no idea how any of it works :slow rofl: Would anyone be able to look at the below images of our setup and try and explain what we need to know about the whole electrical system I think that I...

    Installing a Powerpart PDU

No on your version there isn't a dedicated fuse for the charger, that 25A fuse would disconnect the Leisure Battery entirely. Looks like for yours you turn off the 6A mains circuit breaker to turn off the internal power supply. If you already have a lithium capable maintenance charger then...

Rather unscientific, but I topped up the starter battery this morning. Before I started, I checked the leisure battery voltage, gauge showing 12.3v Plugged in the Noco Genius 5, voltage in both cab sockets went to 14.2v Left the charger running until it showed fully charged, cab sockets...

    Battery Ah size recommendations

It only flashes when the EHU cable is connected and power is being sent from the victron. I can't test the voltage, embarrassed to say I don't have a multi meter.... It's been on the list for about 10 years! From what I've read the signal needs to be 12v 50mA, so something to step the volts...

    Charging leisure battery

I have an EC155 but I’ve only used EHU 2 or 3 times in the last 6 years. As far as I’m aware it’s not a smart charger so isn’t great for avoiding battery damage. I just use my CTEK 250SA via B2B and 150w solar to charge my 2x45Ah AGMs, plenty for what I need even for months away from home.

Lithium LifePo4 12v Batteries - Time For An Upgrade?

OK, so I've read through the last 51 pages (maybe skimmed a little bit). My original leisure battery, a Platinum AGM Plus Leisure Battery 12V 100Ah AGMLB6110L is now approaching 5 years old and appears to be showing its age, and so looking to upgrade. The current battery is built into a cabinet...
