What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Yeah going power bank route. That way I can use it in my work van to charge batteries when were not camping. Although I've not decided on size yet! Space will most likely dictate that! Already got a r&r bed. Went for a RustyLee full width one! Cracking bit of kit! This is how the van looked 8...

    Service Plan or go independent?

My guess is you were born in '68 and not the van? If you've read back through this thread you'll see I've mentioned that the warranty is basically free. 2 years servicing (£500), MOT's (£110) and breakdown (£240) come in at around the £850 mark. When the ALL IN was on offer at £33 you would pay...

    Switch for rear lights

Yeah, sounds like a plan. I have all the cables in place for addition lights from the leisure battery too. So will investigate the lights timing out/fading first then decide the best plan of action. Thanks

    Aftermarket Security

Hi all I’ll be getting my van back from converter in a few weeks. I’m worried about break-ins on my street which have been increasing in frequency. I already have the top-rated Disklock steering lock & I plan to fit an integrated immobiliser & tracker as soon as I get it back. But I think the...

    VW All-in plan

...to crank the labour rate up a bit and hide it there. No garage can afford to give away the thick end of a tenner per punter for no return out of the kindness of their heart. As for it being above the normal all in plan cost I can't comment because I'm not in it so have no knowledge of their...

Need some wheel/tyre combination height details please.

Aye, I changed to AS last autumn (and will now run them year round) - I went with Hankooks (Kinergy 4s2) since they have excellent reviews (and particularly suited to a largely wet rather than actually snowy UK climate) at a reasonable price...

5 Year Factory warranty v the all in mot, breakdown, and 2 year service plan

I view the all in warranty as a nice to have that's largely free if you're happy to run a VW Service Plan and Assist. It's better than nothing but not equivalent to the full extended factory warranty.

Winter mode: raising suspension for the season

I’m not sure why you want to alter the ride height for winter? If you are UK based the a 40mm lowered van will be fine on virtually all roads with a similar overall winter /AT tyre diameter. Seems like an awful lot of work to change ride height unless you are planning driving up mountain...

    What Have You Bought Today?

I have a shiny new not on offer (sadly) All In Plan for BigTruckie as my factory warranty ended this weekend. There are enough wrinkles croping up on 6.1s I don't want to wait for an offer. Coincidentally it's having it's blender flap servo replaced this week under the original warranty...

VWCV warranties - All-in vs Extended?

Do you know if there is the same mileage limitation on the All in plan?

    Fuel Pressure Sensor issue (P0193)

Evening all, Had the coil lights flashing at me on a short 5 mile trip tonight not long after setting off. Plugged in when I got home and I’ve got P0193 Fuel Pressure Sensor throwing a fault. Had a quick search of the forum and nothing definitive. Has any one had this or are there thing to...

Newbie van owner after advice on taking good care of the T6.1 TDI engine?

I did think about the 2 year All in plan as my van meets the criteria for age and mileage. Interesting that this comes up on offer occasionally, how often does the offer typically roll around and how do i get to hear about it?

Next “All In Plan” offer… Any idea?

I cancelled my All In plan early albeit it was only a few weeks to take advantage of the November offer. They even gave me a refund for the one month overlap.

    Drive away awning advice

Hi there all, looking for some guidance. Is there any reason I couldn’t put a right hand drive away awning on the left hand side of the van? I have a T6 LWB kombi and the plan is to have my kitchen pull out the tailgate & ideally I drive in forwards to any pitch, tailgate up, kitchen out when in...

    What Have You Bought Today?

Will pick and choose the bits we like. Maybe stay longer than 1 night some places. Will set off same as always. With no exact plans and zero nights booked in anywhere just a general idea of the direction I’m going in and playing it all by ear. Never know exactly where we will be spending the night.
