In the recent freeze. The rubber that seals around the rear of the front arch, must have been frozen to the arch when I opened the door. It’s fitted to the door lower front.
I can’t find the part on the free ETKA sites, and can’t see if it comes complete with the little white clips that hold...
Afternoon Volksfriends, I hope you're all keeping well.
I'm not having much luck with my T6.1 so far. On day 1, the barn door opening mechanism failed. A month in, the front drivers window started leaking like a sieve.
Now I've got water coming in through the top of the sliding door past the...
My17 T6 Shuttle is out of warranty and the near side (Left) sliding door seal needs replacing. I thought I knew what part number I was looking for, but have just ordered/received the wrong one.
A number of eBay sites suggest their aftermarket seals are both 7E0 843 791 and 7E0 843 792. I have...
I spotted water on my hob and sink yesturday. I could not see where it came from, from the inside, I opened the drivers side sliding door and it was wet, above the seal was dry which confused me. This however didnt show it was leaking unless they are not supposed to be wet? I thought one side of...
Anyone had this before?
Been in the Alps for a couple of weeks and the doors keep freezing shut, especially the side doors.
Spoke to some local T6 owners and they don’t suffer with this..
Van is parked outside but it’s only dropping to -8’c
I’ve dynomatted my van and now I’m adding a dodo acoustic thermal liner.
Where’s best to add it to the door and tailgate? I’ve dynomatted both the inner and outer skins. Do you add the thermal liner under the door trim or direct to the door outer skin!
So I've gone and fitted the door seal trim, and yes it now sounds less clunky, but I have an issue with the drivers door bouncing back open after pulling to close. Is there a limit to where the trim should finish thats making it do this?
Any advice welcome.
Cheers.
apologies for another thread on this subject, but I see these are not on the forum shop ATM.
When members fit these, are they replacing the originals or adding a 2nd, and do they help reduce noise?
Thanks
When driving on dirt roads, how well dust proofed is the T6? You don’t have to wander too far afield in Oz to strike dust. Anyway, we like to go to out of the way places.
I am planning in install additional seals on the front doors as the first mod.
Thanks for your help and advice.
This morning a read a lot about these rusty door seals!! Horrified I had to have a look... and sure there it was door seal damaged and rust . What worried me more was the fact she was still in warranty BUT last week I dropped her on Bilstein B14’s and put some side bars and bigger bronze alloys...
Our usual supplier has run out of stock and has no date for replacement stock. Looking for a recommend from the members on here from where you guys have brought your from.
Cheers in advance all

I have been lurking on the forum for a few months, and I have to say it has been an invaluable help as I get going with my first van. I have owned VW's my whole life, and have done loved owning and driving everything from a MK1 Caddy, to various generations of the GTI. I have wanted a Van for...
I was looking to buy the rubber door seal from the forum shop, couple of questions though, does the seal do both front doors? and does anyone have a photo (before and after) of where to fit?
Can these doors be adjusted at all? Mine looks like it needs to go in a couple of millimetres. Looked at the latch on pillar loosened it off but it won’t move anywhere but back into same position.
Hi,
Is there a rubber seal we can get that fits to the front of the bonnet (underneath) that will stop the dust and dirt coming into the engine bay? There are holes where something like this could go......I have had them on many of my cars, but the van has nothing.
If not has someone made...
just wanted to know if the additional door rubber seals help the door close with less of a thundering clump ...and is that what they are for .
Or is it for a better draught seal ?
