140 vs 180 (DSG)

I quick google of 180 biTDi CFCA oil consumption issues will answer your question.

140 with a remap is my advice.
 
The T6 180 engines are not effected by the oil consumption issues.

The twin turbo set up in the 180 is far nicer to drive IMHO but more money...
 
Depends if you trust VW to have cracked the problem with the D suffix cooler.
People said it was only 2010 and 2011 builds that had issues - but we are seeing 2014 vans needing new engines. Does the D suffix coor eliminate the problem or just postpone the problem?
 
Got a 180 bi-turbo, it’s sweet as a nut.
 
The 204 is a completely different beast.

Effortless to drive & very smooth with heaps of power.

Not great on fuel....... but then it is difficult to keep your foot off the gas`!

The 140 needs a fair it of winding up to get the best from it.

Have had 2x 140's & my daily driver is now a 204 DSG with flappy paddles ;)
