150 engine problem

i all, I’ve just recently starting having issues with my 2018 T6 (150ps). There’s a lot of engine vibration on idle up to 1500rpm, a bad smell of unburnt diesel and a lot of white smoke for around 10mins until it’s warmed up. It’s covered 105k (miles) but sits on the motorway and doesn’t really cover short journeys (hence the high milage for the age)
It’s got all the symptoms of the biturbo EGR problems but I can’t find anyone that’s had this problem with this engine. Has anyone had this issue?
No warning lights on. Fuel filter/ oil filter changed. No sludge in the oil filler and old oil looks free of debris. Engine runs like garbage until it warms up then the vibrations are intermittent. Any ideas?

Sounds like excess fuel, if it’s on start up most likely a leaking injector.
The excess fuel will be washing the bore, diluting the oil, clogging the EGR / induction and damaging the DPF. Don’t run it in this condition.
A garage should be able to diagnose this.

4 brand new injectors, and new inlet manifold ( badly gunked up with soot) so replaced rather than cleaned
No faults

Were the injectors renewed because of the smoke?

Which one was first - parts replacement or poorly running engine?

No faults
Has any other actual diagnosis been done? E.g. verified proper operation of engine crankshaft and camshaft sensors?

You haven’t mentioned the HPFP so I’ll assume it hasn’t been replaced.
If the original injectors were damaged (assume the leak off was measured) it’s highly likely that a failing pump caused the injector damage.
Perhaps the new injector(s) have been damaged by the original HPFP debris?

Hi , ok so no hpfp looked to be fine when we removed the cap, not a single bit of debris

It’s a bit of a weird one…..

So initially we hooked up vcds and looked for any injector issues and no.1 had the most devience

I removed the egr pipe going into inlet manifold to check for coolant trace and to see how bad the manifold was caked, was very bad so replaced manifold rather the cleaned

1 injector didn’t make much diference(was a used injector but was told was good)removed it and sent for testing and came back faulty so went and got brand new injector and didn’t make much difference
Then did leak off test and another 2 weren’t great so decided, sod it I’ll replace them all thinking that will surely fix problem IT DIDNT…….

Debris smaller than can seen by the naked eye will wreck an injector, if all or most injectors have excessive leak oil rate it’s safe to assume the pump is damaged unless you have a microscope or oil analysis to prove otherwise.
