It’s doesn’t matter. You can use either. Personally I like to keep the OEM style with that collar. Normally you can buy the set bolts and spacers.

cheers Most sets are with the standard fixed collar so aslong as they’ll still be ok I’ll just get them

Just be a little careful. The VW OEM spinning collar is radiused (known as ball seat) to sit nicely into the corresponding radius in the OEM wheel bolt hole. Many aftermarket bolts often have a conical/cone seat which isn't compatible with VW OEM wheels.

It doesn't have to be able to spin, fixed is fine, but you need to make sure, if using aftermarket bolts with OEM VW wheels, that the new bolts have the ball seat. Here's a pic showing the difference.

That’s why your in charge of the van cave :D

I have a 6.1 4 Motion van on order and have been looking at 18" wheels but the Bolt holes in the wheel look small , I would think only a 18mm socket would fit in.
Could someone tell me the head size of the wheel bolt please.
Not the thread the head.
Thanks
I think it's 19mm on OEM wheel bolts

I run lightly loaded.
Fronts: 3 psi less than the T6 door jamb sticker for 235/55/17- 255/45/18
Rears: I matched the bottom bulge of the fronts tyres; either by eye or using an off-set straight edge from the wheel rim (2 bits of roofing lath) aligned vertically

been sitting on the sidelines since getting my T6 at beginning of December last year, I'm converting it to a "Flexi day van" living in Cornwall I didn't want to go too low, so here it is 18" Zito's ET35 with 255x45 R18 with a 50mm Drop on H&R springs, very pleased with the comfort an quality go the ride.

Got the wheels on last night just as it was going dark. Photos from this morning after snow overnight. I’m well pleased with the Bronze against the Indium Grey.

They are 19x8.5 1Form EDT.1 with 245/45/19 Goodyear Vector 4Season Gen3 SUV tyres.

Many thanks to Oli @BognorMotors for sorting the rims out. Now just to get the STX fully lowered on my next trip to Bognor.
