I had 17" wheels originally and the speedo read over. Now I have 19" wheels with 255 45 19 and it's pretty much spot on.

The speedos can be calibrated using VCDS or similar, so I'd guess that the factory setting could vary depending on what size wheels the van left the factory with. So not all tyre size recommendations will give the same results.

I agree with @dubber36 255/45/19
This is what I ran for ages and it was spot on with my nav, although about 1mph out with my van digital speedo.

I had 16” wheels originally and now have 19’s. I’m running 245/45 19 tyres and my speedo is bang on with a GPS speedo. When these are worn out I’ll probably move to 255’s which will give me a little more kerb protection. They are a fraction larger in circumference so i may see a slight change in speedo accuracy.

Mines been lowered 40mm. The 255/45 was a best compromise for me on the 19's.. They're decent match for the cantera wheel. Really grippy, not too wide... Speedo and GPS read spot on.

Hi mate after a few months of running the Goodyear you happy with them? Will you be running them in the winter.

Hi... Yes i like the goodyears.... Although i've suffered one blow out through the sidewall as mentioned here

Which has dented my confidence a bit.....

I will be running them over the winter as i don't have an alternative at the moment....

The tread pattern is definatley a summer tread pattern.... and if i had the spare cash i would opt for a winter set up with dedicated winter tyres...

Thanks Jason for your honesty was looking at theses as well as the Nexens as they get great reviews too.

I went with Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric 255/45/19 on Canteras.. T32 load rated. Highly recommend

I am running Amarok 18 but am looking for a little extra high without adjusting the suspension.
Your wheels and tyres would give me an extra 13mm so will work and also look good.
Are your wheels flush with the arches or Do you run spacers .
Thanks

Fronts are flush without spacers
Rears sit slightly in... 15mm spacers on the rear would bring them flush with the arches....

Hi All.

Does anyone have any photos of a T6 running 255/45/19's please? I was looking to run 275/40/19's on 9.5J rims but looks like I can't do that without spacers and long wheel studs which I'd rather not get into so I can move down to an 8.5J wheel but I can't get the correct load for a T32 in 255/40/19.

I'm concerned 255/45/19 might look odd?! Can anyone help please?

Many thanks.

Unfortunately the forum search makes it difficult to find things even when you know what you want! But if you use Google to search the site, you can find things e.g.

  • Search google as follows
site:t6forum.com "255/45 R19"
  • Switch to Images on Google

  • Click a few and review the thread e.g.

There are some pictures in there, with tyre choices at 104Y load rating.

Nice looking vans. Seems most are running the 255/45/19s. I really want to go for the 275/40/19's on a 9.5J width rim for our T32 but i'm getting 50% of wheel places saying they are too wide and 50% saying it will work fine. Wheels have ET48 offset. Anyone know if I am going to get any clearance issues with this set up. We are new to 'transporter world' and not only is searching for threads on this site near impossible it seems wheels and tyres are a bit of a crapshoot...
