Honestly I don’t need anymore alloys! My garage is chocca until tomo. I’ve got this little soft spot for a cantera though just can’t help myself when I see them at a bargain price.

that’s not a bad price that for a gloss black set! And £749 for a normal set is very good. My last set were gloss black, thought I’d like them but just didn’t get on with them. I’ve got this thing about them having to be fully colour changed not just the front. I think it’s a better job. Alloys and tyres are just a mine field

And they’re on!

Very pleased, I think these suit my van very nicely, just need to lower it now and get some centre caps. I assumed the ones on the old wheels would fit but sadly they don’t. Luckily one of the new wheels has one fitted so I was able to get the part number and order the right ones.
Fitted with 245/45 19 102 load rated tyres.

For anyone who is interested the part number for the correct centre cap is 3B7.601.171.
The old wheels had part number 5G0.601.171 which is the same size but has smaller clips on the inside. The amarok wheels centre hole is 57mm diameter, the original wheels are 55mm. This is the inside diameter, both are 65mm external (ie. If you measure the outside of the centre cap).
Thanks for the info on the centre caps, I have just bought some Cantara and had assumed my old centre caps would fit ... do you think VW alter the hole centres by 2mm on purpose??

I got them here if that helps with tracking the right ones down.

Don’t buy the dynamic ones they don’t fit... you have to work some magic to get them in..

Hi,
I’m probably going to push the button on some canteras this week for my t32 t6.
I can have them with or without tyres. The tyres currently on them are 255/55. They are 111 load rating which I believe is suffice.
I’m going to drop the van by 40mm or 50mm in due course.
Do you think I could use the 55 profile tyres or should I get them without tyres and source 45/50 profile tyres?
Thanks

Think you need 255/45 for 19's or the speedo will be out... use the website 'will they fit' and it'll show you how far out your speedo will be...

The tyres that come with them are too big for a T6, they will not fit (rub & fail the arches) either sell them on or opt for without tyres.

Hi,
Just wanted to check something I'm sure I already know the answer to.
Are Amarok Cantera alloys T32 load rated?
I'm sure I've seen on here and pictures of the inside of the wheel that they are 860kg per wheel.

A quick search with ‘Cantera’ and ‘load’ brings up a few results that’ll answer your question:

Not sure of the max load for the wheel, but
The max rear axel load is 1860kg for an Amarok, which is comfortably more than a T32, so you well covered capacity wise regardless of which T6 you have.

I have these which are an 8J and T32 load rated, fitted with Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres 255/45/19

The load index rating of the tyres are equally important for T32.. So i went for 105 load index rated.

No spacers on mine. I did wonder if I’d need them but they look great without. They are ET43, 8J (see picture) and of course the other key factor is they are load rated so good for T32’s as well  I run mine on 245/45 19’s which has the speedo bang on with GPS speed.
I paid £750 for a set of virtually new ones inc tyres (Which are the wrong size for the T6) with delivery mileage on them. I sold the tyres for £220 so overall i haven’t done too badly I don’t think.

How do you boys find the cantaras?
I’m still deciding between standard 17’s, sportline 18’s and the cantara 19’s

It’s a minefield. I’m considering changing my Sportline’s for Cantera’s but have got some other bits to do first

I'm well chuffed with mine. I can't say that I've noticed any difference from the stock 17" Cavascels
