And we're off (again)

Second set of Cantera wheels just arrived.

Got some 245/45s being fitted tomorrow and will then look to sell the new 255/55s that came on them.

Will also buy a 15mm spacer for the rear wheels this time around.

Yep, they're still in there and don't seem to rattle that I've noticed. I've got the OEM ones that a scratched to buggery but yours if you want them as filler whilst deciding.

Thanks @Ltrain
It would be helpful to give me the part number off the genuine ones please

I've looked back through my eBay purchase history and the ones I bought last time were also 65mm and they were definitely loose/rattled so I ended up adding a small blob of silicone on the back of each one. So they were either not really 65mm ones or I need 67mm ones perhaps?

@t6blo

My 16" Claytons use 5G0 601 171 B, & I think the 17" Devonports use the same centre cap as well.
And looks like this:

My 19" Canteras use 3B7 601 171
And looks like this:

Both are near or less 65mm across the back, but the Cantera ones have a slightly bigger lip on them, its not much bigger, but it does make a difference between fitting nicely with a "click" or falling out.

For the folk who don't have the 19" Canteras and as an option for the 5G0 601 171 B, you could specify 5G0 601 171 BLYC
The red rim may go well with painted red calipers?
More things to spend your well earned money on!!

Thanks @moomin-j

I’ve just ordered a set of 3B7601171

(note: I ordered these part number to put on my last set of Canteras and they rattled in the hole so will see what happens this time)

Also, just sold my never driven on set of 4x 255/55 tyres for £200 cash to someone local on bookface marketplace

I'm surprised they rattled, I have my Canteras safely stashed away at work, awaiting summer months and that part number fitted perfect, no movement at all.
They certainly are a tad bigger and won't fit my winter 16" Claytons

Nice 1 for selling the tyres so quick, but at £50 per corner, someone got a bargain!!

Will see what these ones fit like when they arrive.

The tyres, although never driven on, still had a 4 year old date code so I think it was a fair price.

Looking good.

Someone should create a wheel / van application for the site so we can compare wheels against van colours, suspension drops, etc ......
I suggested a try before you buy scheme ages ago...you see a set of wheels on a van you like, drive to the van and try them on yours....simple id have thought.

Has anyone who has a set of Canteras got the big brakes fitted?
If so, any chance of a full face on picture please?

I only ask, as I'm upgrading to the Vw big brakes and having them painted, but I may also get the rear splash/stone guard painted with the same colour at the same time, rather than keeping them standard black if they are visible behind the Cantera spokes.

About 55mm on b14s.

As in the t32 big brakes or brembos or similar?

Yes - T32 big brakes, as I can't afford any other
Removed from a delivery mileage T6, from a person who could afford Brembos or similar!!

My 16" chassis only came with little brakes that look tiny behind the 19" Cantera alloys.
More to do with aesthetics rather than stopping power.
