Hi all,

Apologies in advance as I am sure this has probably been covered to death.

I’m new to the transporter scene having got myself a T6 (t30) in the summer.

The van came with 20” wheels, staggered set up (8.5J and 10J) and 275/40/20 tyres all around.

I’ve recently had Solow ‘Low’ coilovers fitted and was aware the tyres on the front would cause some issues at this point with rubbing. Having read various posts on here I believe if I want to change just the fronts to reduce the rubbing etc then the correct size I need is 245/45/20. In keeping with the 275/40/20 on the rears. Or is there alternative/more suitable size?

Thanks in advance

As far as I’m aware, yes, the 245/45/20s are the way to go given they match the 275/40/20s in diameter (and will be much better for the 8.5J too!).
You might want to check - depending on how low you are - if they still work, given the diameter is quite a lot larger than standard although hopefully the reduced width means it works… others may have direct experience and can confirm.

I'm not on Solows, mine is only about 60mm down, but I have the same size staggered 20's, and going to 245/45 on the front stopped any rubbing. The van also drives and steers much better. Also it's been reported on here several times that a 275 exceeds the maximum wiidth for a 8.5j alloy.
You don't say what the offset is on your fronts though. My fronts are et45.
