Hi guys
Im looking into a 2013 VW Caddy 1.6 TDI. I’m familiar with the 2.0TDI in crafters and transporters but is the 1.6 any good?
Been seeing injector faults Egr and DPF problems etc thanks

I know several people that have them and have had no trouble at all. The internet will tell you about everything that goes wrong, but not what is good.

As with any 10 year old vehicle you need to make your own decision based on condition, history and gut felling.

Yeah I understand
You see a lot of people fail to maintain vehicles properly then when they give trouble it’s always the vehicle which is the bag of shit

Several of my mates have had the 1.6 and had nothing but trouble with them! Always injectors along with other things! I had the 2.0tdi and never missed a beat in 10 years of owning it

This is prime dieselgate, be worth checking if it was updated/modified or still running original factory or been rolled back

Injectors are the issue. And you will need to replace with OEM or OEM spec when they fail, and they will fail. Other than that they are bullet proof pretty much.

Just purchased a 2013 cabby 74bhp. Ideal for me running around. Cleaned it out new rear flooring, radio and speaker upgrade. Scirocco R seats heated Rocco wheels. Ohh and ended up on the ramp at CRS just for a look over and the rear axle kit and front coil overs fitted. Before I could blink. IMG_6194.jpeg

As above, injectors on my one.
Went to the extreme of getting a tfsi conversion done.
