Hi. Ad blue is not required. Not sure which it is.
Speaking with our tame VW mechanic, we chatted about the assumed issue with these engines and the aluminium breaking down in one of the coolers. This engine has the later designation cooler so bypasses it. And he went on to say it really isn’t the big issue that the internet proclaims it to be. Normal and regular servicing and oil changes is what’s required. Your welcome to pop round and have a go if you’re local. Regards David

Correct. There are other cities that are planning to go ulez in a few years like Manchester our house will be in the ulez zone so I opted for the euro 6. Otherwise I wouldn't think twice about euro 5.
