2nd row bench to 3rd row

Evening all, I'm thinking about moving the bench in my kombi to the 3rd row. Has anyone done this before? I've seen conflicting posts saying you need different seat belts/extender bar.

If you need different seat belts I may as well get 4 new brackets and leave the 2nd row seat belts in place and have the option where to sit. If its the same belts I may as well take them out. Thanks in advance

From everything I’ve seen you can move the 2nd row seat belts but you do need to install some extra extension bars in the 3rd row (down from the top of the van) before you can fit the 2nd row belts there.

Thanks. I'd probably look at moving the belts and brackets back. Can't see why I'd ever need them back in the 2nd row. No how do I get the floor brackets out without dropping the fuel tank

Not certain it’s possible without dropping the tank. You only have four to get to rather than eight or twelve though, so if you don’t get a better answer, I suggest getting under it and checking. You might be able to get to the four middle ones more easily.

A few youtube videos and a bit or crawling under the van looks in order. Just need to finish deep cleaning it, haven't had much chance with the weather

No not yet. Need to get them 8 brackets. Over a tenner each tho seems expensive. Plenty to be getting on with while I try to find some cheaper ones

Looks very smart. Not seen many options for a 3rd row bed. No seat belts?

We reduced its length so only an option if you’re short or add an extra fold out flap on section behind headrests. Luckily we are both not tall.
We don’t need seat belts in rear when camping as just us 2, although still got original central belt on bench. Original floor brackets and seat belts intact, so bench row 2 can be reinstated if required.
