2nd Row Seats

Hi All,

Have the usual 2nd row set-up of 2 + 1 seats. For various reasons would like to change this to three individual seats. I'm assuming that I just need to change the double seat but they seem to be sold as a set of three? Annoyingly. The price looks very high - about £2k for the set which is more than I want to pay so will look hard on the internet. Is there anything in particular I need to look for when buying seats? Do I need to but any additional fixings for them at the same time? I have no DIY skills so will be taking them to a VW specialist to get fitted. I'm not to worried about the condition of the seat as I'll get them reupholstered to match the other seats.

TIA.

Yes the double seat will need new fixings and plates to 2 singles if that makes sense and it doesn’t surprise me they are dear and finding just the 2 singles for behind drivers seat will be like rocking horse shit especially the middle one

Thanks. Do the fixings and plates come with the seats or are they something that the VW specialist will be able to get?

You will just need to buy and fit the floor brackets. Nothing else is needed bar the seats, which as you say are very expensive!

Not necessarily depends on the sellers circumstances.
If you’re taking it to a specialist they can source all that for you.
I’m currently having some seats sourced and reupholstered by @Eclipse Custom Vans and they have done all the finding for me but you could save some money by sourcing yourself and just paying for the work to be done.

As the other chaps have said, the seats don't necessarily come with brackets, generally not. For your additional single seats you will need additional floor brackets and under vehicle brackets. If you are trying to source the seat yourself, just find a set and if they 'come' with brackets great, if not don't worry, your fitter can source these. If you try to source you may get the wrong items. Where are you based?
