Hi just got a VW T6 4 motion thinking of putting it on air suspension . Would be grateful of any advised
I have a LWB t32 4motion on VB air, love it. It's the same system that can be ordered as a factory fit in Europe, but not for the UK market for some reason. It has to be retrofitted here. It's an approved VW conversion, so no warranty issues.

Hi I to have vb air for the approved warranty but I will point out one thing they do not tell you which annoyed me is when driving in sport mode it is only 20mm lower than standard ride height so if you want that low look this is not for you as this is how they keep the warranty in place

I have the "off-road" version of the VB kit. This is 30mm raised above standard ride height. This suits my needs as I need the extra height when launching the boat. Personally (& this is purely personal) I'm not into the lowered look, it defeats the point of having a 4motion van IMO, but each to their own.

I had VB fitted to my 4Motion over a year ago. Terrible ride from day one. One front strut had no damping which was replaced but still bounced about on B roads. Rear dampers found to intermittently have no damping action (sticking valves?) rear dampers replaced which improved the handling/ride. Front still too soft, with double rebound on most bumps.
Air and level control OK but as Richard f says Sport mode height isn't as low as lowering springs would be.
Now looking to replace with Bilstein units.

That’s strange, I’ve only ever heard good things about VB ride quality. Ours rides pretty nicely. I wonder whether it is something to do with the 4motion or whether there’s some specific issue with it. Who installed it?

I have DCC - adaptive dampers factory fit, they are also 20mm lower than standard suspension; but vw do offer in their accessories catalogue 30mm lower springs, so I would have though running 30mm lower is fine for drive shafts etc.
Why do you want it to drive lower?, is it to control roll more in corners?

I am having VB installed now. I have a wheelchair hoist under the van and I got this system so that I can tilt the vehicle to lift the kerb side up to allow the hoist to slide out over the kerb onto the foot path. The Tilt is on M1 and M2 but once programmed and working all is good until you switch off and then it looses its programming. The supplier is stumped, the installer is over it and I dont have a tiling system. Any thought would be appreciated?

Im interested in seeing how this works for you once you get it sorted out.

I installed a 30mm Seikel Lift kit to help with this issue when putting the K90 lift out on to a stepped kerb, ill also be putting on 225/65R17 to give me an extra 17-18mm high.

Can you send me the VB? product details when you can, i'd like to have a further look at this.

Cheers,

Bryn
