Ablemail AMT12 installation

So I have now joined the Ablemail massive. Question re programming. It says disconnect the power and then connect SW1 to leisure. Does this mean pull the cables off the AMT or switch the power off and connect SW1 and turn power back on. At the minute I see the LED flashing green steadily about every 10 seconds

I didn't change the settings. It works perfectly on default setting 4!

Default setting 4 will be ok to start with..

They do a sweet BT dongle so you can monitor and change settings.

More money ffs. Lee will you please STOP ✋
It makes me happy looking at the Input Voltage graph on the Cerbo to see what the AMT is up to. You really don't need that BT Dongle! (I'm sure Lee would lend it you if you crossed his palm with beer - in a bottle)!

Same as mine, I left mine on the default setting, and even without solar it keeps the SB at 12.3v all the time.

The only time it stops charging is if the LiFePO4 LB drops below 60% AND there's no solar charge coming in to increase the voltage.

When the AMT cuts in... I could watch it for, minutes...

Is that normal? I'd have thought you'd want it to keep charging the SB no matter the remaining LB capacity, especially given that after a few days off grid camping you'd almost certainly be under 60%.

It's because the AMT12-2 has a LB cut off of 13.0v in the default setting, so when the LB starts getting low it'll stop using it to charge the SB.

However, as soon as there's any solar, that increases the voltage and it starts charging again.

On the other settings (the lithium settings) it only charges when the LB is over 13.5v so only when it's being charged by solar and never just using the LB.

It is quite surprising how quickly the voltage increases when the panel is exposed to daylight, not even sun, quite murky here this morning and the voltage has gone up well already.

This was in January, LB at 45% and solar barely 10w for most of the day, Ablemail didn't charge over night but as soon as MPPT was getting a few watts that was enough to raise the voltage and start the charging again.

If you're camping somewhere and your LB is below 50% and you've got absolutely zero solar coming in then you've got other things to worry about!
