Adaptive cruise control

mine has this radar thing but it seams only for city breaking at max 19mph! so wont do anything if someone cuts in front of you on a fast road, seams odd why even though it has the radar thing, must just be a software thing. seams strange holding back on a safety feature when you have he hardware already in place.
That’s vw for you, if its only software you might be able to just get it coded to get it working?.

Not sure about this but I was told their was 3 types radar- one for front assist , the next for speeds upto 99mph and the last for speeds up to 120 or so.

The hardware is different on all three which may well explain the big price difference between all three.

That’s probably the correct. I must say in my opinion if I wash bying brand new I would pay the money for the full ACC as it was fantastic on a long run on the Cali I hired.

We ran the part numbers of the radar sensor from a standard MY18 van compared to a Cali with full ACC and it was the same ?

My van is used locally 99% of time so I didn’t upgrade to that as I would hardly use it. It’s just the safety side of it seams cool. Shame the city one doesn’t work up to 40mph.

Anyone found out if you can upgrade 18MY to ACC for those who already have the sensor for auto braking? I realise it would need a new MFSWheel to get the ACC button.

Are they not locked SWaP functions? So dealer visit etc like the Discover media’s

I asked Marshall Oxford dealers if ACC can be added to my vel but the sales guy said it can't. Shame as it's great in my wife's Tiguan. That said it was a salesman rather than technician that I spoke too do he moght not know. I'd definitely get it fitted if it was available though so I'll be keeping an eye on this thread.

I had seen someone in the VW retrofit group on FB had retro fitted ACC successfully but that was to a PQ platform vehicle, he said it would be totally different for a MQB platform vehicle.

My first week with mine out in everyday traffic.
At the moment I find it quite intrusive from normal cruise control, either that or I'm bad for doing a flypast !
I've got the settings all the way to minimum distance and today as a car slipped off in front of me on the motorway the system decided it was too close and braked quite hard when actually nothing was in front of me ! now this, I can get used to by timing etc but the guy behind must've thought "what the f*** is she braking for"

Did anyone ever figure this out? Can the AutoBraking be upgraded to ACC? :D
Anybody !??

What do you mean my 'Auto Braking' ? ACC already brakes for you, or are you referring to City Assist? If so, I added ACC and City Assist was part of ACC.

You might already have it if City Assist is what you're referring to. The problem is how do you know without trying it out, and I don't advise that

City Assist is standard on all new T6s now afaik. It will be standard on all new vehicles sold soon as its part of the new NCAP standards.

I think if it was possible to upgrade to ACC someone would have done it by now.
