Advice needed to retrofit OEM Parking Sensors

Hi, I’m just after a bit of advice and wondered if anyone on the site could advise at all.

I will keep this as brief as I can. Just bought a second hand Caravelle (From a main dealer non vw) and the salesman assured me it had parking sensors which it does, but just looks a cheap aftermarket kit which I was not told about. Anyway looks like they are Possibly going to cough up to get them sorted. My question is would anyone know how hard/ easy it would be to change them to optical parking sensors that come up on the screen on the dash ( standard vw touch screen) as I’m sure the question will be asked by the garage And I can’t see them coming to collect it 150 odd miles so may have to get it done locally in the north east or teeside. Would I need a full new system or could some of the bits be re used( wireing, bumper sensors)

If it has OEM parking sensors there will be a “P” switch just under the Auto Start/Stop.

Some stereo head units allow parking sensors to be easily added, with others it gets pricey. Can you post a pic of the head unit?

Hi, does anyone know of a company or person local to Teeside who could quote to get new or the existing sensors linked to the screen? Still in contact with the supplying garage regarding them paying for or towards it? Thanks

Great thank you. Does anyone have an idea what it should cost to get the kit fitted as I wouldn’t want to tackle it myself.

The dealer I bought my car from has offered my £250 as a token gesture towards the sensors or they have said they will come a pick the car up (400 mile round trip) and refund me? I’ve asked for £535 to cover the cost.

dones anyone know where I legally stand with this as I dont really want to send the car back as I love it, apart from the sensors. I’m thinking of calling their bluff and saying pick it up.

any advise would be appreciated.
