Advice on Parking Heater and Adaptive Cruise please?

The non-franchised dealer has been excellent today, following up on the issues with the comfort dash. It looks like they've sorted city braking without ACC too. Apparantly the factory have rejected 2 Kombis recently with comfort, but they can't isolate why. They reccommend placing the order and crossing fingers but worst case I guess they come back to me in a month and take £500+ off my invoice :D

There are must have options before you can spec comfort dash

I had ACC on a demo and hated it.

I seem to recall that you could not have the dual air con option with a non caravelle comfort dash (matt finish centre lid) and also need front carpet; circa £60 - I have the dash on mine but I also have the basic air con (non-dual zone).

I still think the ACC is badass though!

Good luck :)

Second day with my T6 I almost side rammed a car switching lane on the motorway. Lots of blinking in the mirror side assist light made me react. Must have been an inch between the cars. Glad I payed 400pounds for it.

Will try the cardboard in front of vehicle testing city brake :)

Whatever happened to good old fashioned proper driving.
You don't need a car/van to brake for you, park for you, alert you to every possible hazard.

You should KNOW what's happening around you.

These electronic "safety" aids encourage bad driving habits.

Just drive properly.

The same was said when the seats belt and air bags were invented. Shit happens no matter what your skills are. And one more thing, you knowing whats happening around, does not stop another idiot from ramming you or cause any accident..

Safe driving!

Total number of crashes in 24 years driving? Zero.
Just concentrate.

I'm all for passive safety systems; crumple zones, airbags, etc but this constant removal of basic driving skills just kills alertness and promotes lazy driving.

Been an Advanced Driver (and Police trained) for 20 years; driving is about being aware, criticising your own mistakes rather than blaming others and relying on a car to drive you itself.

And none of these systems stop anyone crashing into you.

I don't have ACC, but I do have city brake assist and one thing I noticed is that it will tell you if you are too close to the car in front when driving on the motorway. This got me thinking........Do you think it would be possible to retrofit ACC with a change of steering wheel (or the buttons)?

Sorry to hop in re the comfort dash I ordered a highline Kombi 2 seater cab last week and then called and added comfort dash (after looking at the forum) I only had to add in cab carpets and there weren't any warnings that it might be discontinued...hoping when it arrives it has the comfort dash

Nothing's fixed till it's order accepted at the factory.
What other options are you having ?

4 motion Kombi highline T30 204 SWB with DSG in reflex silver second sliding door diff lock heated seats (cloth seats though) comfort dash single seats, carpet, sat nav, reversing camera, tow bar, folding mirrors...think that's it

I went with city brake assist only, couldn't justify the expense tbh. Will look into aftermarket parking heater and battery, there's some good chat on this forum to keep me occupied while I wait 12-16 weeks for build haha
