Aftermarket Stereo - Support For Parkassist?

Thanks @Absolut5 thats precisely the one I was looking at but was told by a local ICE place it doesn’t support the parking sensors ( though the website says otherwise), but I’ve also read the Pioneers suffer from the stop start and another lead is needed. From what I can gather, I’d be spending well over £300 quid on looms and other bits plus the unit plus installation.

Actually, thinking about it , the standard VW unit, though no Carplay is a pretty good deal!

Yes it does support the parking sensors, and using the correct loom also sorts the stop/start issue

It’s no where near £300.00 for the parts

Is it a shuttle?

Yes you can but a roof mount will perform vastly greater
no mine is a panel van im just thinking if i swap to a DAB capable until can i retro fit into the wing mirror as i dont fancy running cable and drilling the roof

Very unusual not being dab already, some Shuttles don’t have dab

Mine is an early euro5 panel van with the factory basic head unit I’m just presuming it isnt DAB as the head unit doesn’t have DAB maybe the aerial is already there

My mate has a early euro5 Panel van and that has it,

Anyway don’t expect to much out of the mirror aerial, ok with station like Radio 1,2,3,4 but anything else on the move is awful

Hi I have a dnx5190dabs fitted and just had the VW parking sensors fitted , but all I get is the bleeping noise , how am I supposed to get the display on my KENWOOD

Using the correct interface ..

which one did you use?

My DAB reception (mirror antennae) was terrible until I unplugged a couple of cheap generic 12V USB double adapters - the problems largely went away after I started using Ravpower branded ones and although I still get the odd signal dropout, it's tolerable. FWIW, the non-branded ones never give any problems in my Audi or my wifes Honda!

Hi, thanks for the response
unsure whats fitted, ill have to pull the unit and check part numbers, and i presume a wire needs to be connected to something ??
what should be installed for this to work, so i can compare pictures with what i have fitted
Cheers

You need a interface that plugs in like this on the back of the Kenwood

Check first, if you haven’t got the correct one , we do stock them,

Hi just checked, and i dont have one of those, is that the CAW-KIMUN1 , and how much are they, and unsure how it picks up the parking sensors as it just seems to plug into the head unit, and nothing else

That is a europeon part, we use a genuine UK kenwood product, it plugs into that port to display parking sensors, it does it via CanBus
