All Season Vs Summer & Winters?

I bought Falken Wildpeak AT3WA's for my van a year ago as a winter only tyre so I could run the alps with no chains and they have been stunning. They have done 10k inc France and Corfu and back, snow, ice, mud. They have been brilliant
Is that just winter use or all year round?

Where and when do you drive? How do you drive - like Miss Daisy or Colin McRae? Do you have room to store another set of wheels and the capability to swap them over twice a year? All tyres are a compromise so the choice depends totally what capabilities you want and are willing to sacrifice.
Have the original Davenport 17" (with original Conti) and some Momo 18" running Bridgestone Turanza summer. Intention being to swap between them, though in reality for the last 2 years I've just run the 18". Find that the Turanza are a great tyre for comfort economy but longevity isn't so good as only getting around 12k to 14k. Now need to change them and also need new ones on the Devonports.

So looking at the following options:
  • Pick up a set of nearly new Dav's with tires up for around £500. (Possible similar cost to new tires but would only give the std summer tires fitted by VW. Would then replace with the same Truranza summer on the Momo)
  • Get some all weather / winter tires for the Dav's and replace the with the same Truranza summer on the Momo" (largest cost but gives both options).
  • Get some all weather for the Momo (Concern here is that the economy wont be as good as majority of mileage during summer months).
Thought's / comments welcome....

Forgot to say so all UK driving and only handful of camping trips a year at present, mainly daily driving and carrying the bike to teh forest.

I’d say just go with some all seasons on the 18s and keep them on all year. That’s what I’ve got. Sell the Dave and make some money and free up space. On the van there’s no noticeable difference to summer tyres most of the year but all seasons are far better on the 3 days a year there is some snow. Winter tyres are much better in snow, ice and damp cold but compromised the rest of the time. On previous BMWs I used to swap between winter and summer tyres which was awesome but all season tyres have developed massively since then and now I just have them on all my vehicles all year round. I’ve been very impressed with the Continental All Season Contacts on the van.
