I just noticed this hanging down on the rear of the driver side, any idea what it is or what might have dropped off ? Spare wheel is still there so its not that

Air suspension I think,
Would the Headlight levelling sensor bracket be by the back wheel (thats where it is ) ?

It looks like some kind of sensor, either for headlights as previously mentioned or air suspension. Either way, it shouldn’t look like that.

Does that mean the sensor has dropped off ? So my headlights still function but they seem lower than before, is that the effect of it. Is their any danger in driving with it missing ?

The sensor is still there in the pic. It’s the aluminium arm with the ball joint on the end. It needs re-fixing asap.

100% that’s the rear level sensor
Even if you can’t fix try and get it up a bit, if that scrapes and breaks it’s a three figure part

thanks you that good to know, is it something a layperson such as me can do easily or a garage job, is it a special bolt or generic ?

As above - rear level sensor.

If you have had suspension work done, then I’d guess that one of the ARB bolts has either sheared off or worked lose, as it looks like your mount has come away (as opposed to the more-common fault where the arm of the sensor snaps). This would kind of mean you have two problems, so try and get underneath for a better look.

Here’s a photo of how it should look when fitted:

It’s DIY and l, as warned leaving it dangling could result in further damage.

That's the bracket 100% that holds sensor rod to the rear arm.

You'll want to get that looked at asap @icic as the bracket is held on with a 10mm bolt that also secured one side of the clamp for the anti roll bar
