Anyone running 20s and lowered driving in London

No I'm afraid not Polzeylad just a good old window cleaner. ;)

Sounds really nice we have one boy and another on the way and would love to give it a go.

They must be big windows.

We started campering when our daughter was 18 months and our son was almost 4. Now aged 6 and 8 so well versed in spending weeks in a 5x2m metal box.

It's tough at first (expect almost NO sleep) but an absolutely fantastic way of having fun once they get into it.

Do you do track days? I'm considering Thruxton in May. Done Bedford and really enjoyed it.

That was my concern about the 20s on transporter, I don't think I want B14s on my work van..

I'm on b14s all the way down and 20s running pretty much similar side wall height as the gtr 275/35/20 vs gtr's 285/35/20. It's also a daily driven work van loaded up.
So much more comfortable than the t6 oem setup. Wheel size has never really effected comfort on the t6 and I have ran all the sizes. Actual tyre make/compound makes a huge difference.

I'm not sure the London roads are any worse than elsewhere - at least not noticeably to me.

For what its worth, I have 20s on my Kombi with a 50mm drop and while I only drive into London a couple of times a month, I would say the roads out on the Bucks/Berks/Oxon border are equal if not worse.

I suppose it depends where you are driving, but my run in up the M40/A40 are pretty smooth in comparison with my local roads.
Can vouch for that, feels like you doge the potholes all the time

Not a bad track though I have never driven around it, interesting bends seen quite a few races there

Its my own company and all rope access so a little more exciting :)

Yes I can imaging it being quite difficult with 2 children. Especially your daughter at 18 months but once they get used to it I bet it's great fun. Hopefully I'll convince the wife.

No never done a track day but would love to do the Nurburgring this year. Bet Bedford was great fun! Did you do that in the 135i?

What's the deal when you have your first service and have B14s and 20s on. Will they log that so if there are issues in the future you won't even be able to put the originals back on for the warranty.

Yep; in the BM. It was rather impressive. Better than me in fact. Brakes didn't cook, auto box was spot on and it has enough power (320bhp sounds pathetic compared to a GTR but it punts the wee hatch along pretty well) to make good progress. Just me that needs improving.

Funnily enough a mate is a Director of a rope access firm in the Liverpool area. He's doing alright too.

Do at least rent a camper and try it (unless you have conversion plans for yours?); it's a proper life enhancer.

We've been all over Europe, surfed amazing waves, climbed stunning mountains, toured vineyards and so on all using the van.

I do feel a GTR would enhance my life too though :D

I don't go to Vw. I do my own servicing/work at my brother in laws garage.

I put H&R 40mm springs on my T32 Kombi (standard 17") and it transformed the handling and got rid of that "jitteriness" but the ride over pot holes is harsh to say the least. A colleague of mine who has done the same , says he finds it rather crashy.

Beemers are good on the track I've had M cars and do love the way they drive. I will give the camping a go once little man no2 arrives. O no not another expensive hobby!! :)

That's my concern as my T5 on eibachs and 18" sportlines was awful in London. Adaptive suspension should be an option on T6's.

I've just had H&R 4omm springs too and it made a big difference as scruffy says, really pleased. Got some 20" alloys on order and am a little nervous it may ruin the ride, will keep you posted.

got my wheels today and happy to say along with 40mm H&Rs its still a much better ride than with stock VW springs
