App Connect activation

No it has to be done by a dealer and all dealers are saying it can't be done
The box is just a splitter to have two usb sockets if you have the premium dash
They said the same about golfs after they were released then after a while started doing them so time will tell

Sorry to keep going but I am a total novice when it comes to fiddling with vehicles and VW, changing the head unit for a Pioneer or Alpine unit then they come with everything I need.

Has anybody got App Connect Working? - I'm using the lead but cannot seem to connect to my phone.

Yes mine works, connected the phone than did a long press of the voice button to initiate it.
Only works plugged into the USB socket in the top passenger glove box on mine.

Sometimes when you plug it in for the first time, you need to go to the menu (bottom right hand button) select APP CONNECT, then select the phone, then authorise it on both the phone and the unit.

My app connect "Apple Car Play" works through the centre ashtray USB, but can be fussy sometimes, are you using an OEM cable? Is you phones OS up to date?

That reminds me @Pauly I noticed this adaption value on the head unit the other day, seems to suggest you have to tell the unit you have the second socket..

Ok.. Needing to get app connect I think, but I have to do the upgrade of head unit when poss, as don't think it's on the std head unit.. Could also do with putting the iPod USB unit in...

The usb outlets can be swapped for apple compatible ones, the plug on the rear is green for the apple chip units
