Auto Central locking

That would be the normal way to set up a piggy back fuse. Just double check that you've popped it into one of the correct ign live central fuse locations (from memory I think this is fuse 23 through 28 in the lower dash box - someone like @Loz or @Pauly will be able to confirm).
Personally i'd strip the piggy back out and double check that it works as it should.

If its not an issue with the fuse supply you could try turning it off and back on again with VCDS/carista, i have had an issue before where a coding change was lost (MPH speedo) for no apparent reason, re-enabling it fixed it for me ?

Ok that's cured it. (removed altogether for now)
Just need to find an outlet within that fusebox to add the socket to, that is ignition live, but doesn't have any adverse effects.
I already have another one plugged under there for the nav, and that's not caused any problems. So just need to find another fuse to use.

I plugged my dash cam piggyback fuse into an empty slot, upper middle row. Might be worth a try?

Fuses SC29-37 are switched live
Fuses SC38-54 are permanent.

T6 Kombi.
I have just bought Carista and used it successfully to change from single to dual click door opening. Also tried to set Auto door locking when moving with no success. Can anyone tell me what method A and method B mean. Have tried both but neither work. Any other pointers would be appreciated. I have a lock and unlock button with the window controls, does this have a bearing.

Method A and B are for different version of van.

It’s trial and error , try A, try B, try A and B. One combination will work.

What years your van? A wouldn’t work on my 16 reg and B wasn’t available when I tried, but B works on my 18 reg now both where twin sliders.

I've found a couple of times that some coding changes need an overnight rest before they'll take effect

Another Central locking issue.
Parked the van and locked it, all working ok.
A few hours later the alarm goes off.
On checking, indicators not flashing when van is locked but all doors lock.
Dashboard display now shows front passenger door is open permenantly, interior light is on but all doors lock and unlock as they should. Any ideas?.

Sounds like the microswitch in the lock that tell the car the door's shut. If you can get a tube to it a bit of WD40 may help, otherwise it's a warranty job.
Have a look at this video if you want to see where the problem is likely to be
