Autoterm Comfort Control wiring

The Comfort Controller has a setting to use the heater unit's internal temperature sensor. I think that's what you mean, apologies if not.

No, I have a remote temp sensor towards the rear of the van which I'm assuming is wired into the PU-7 controller. I know the PU-7 has its own internal sensor too big
but my converter recommended the external sensor

If you look at the photo in this post above you'll see the white plug on the end of the cable. This has a small tab that you squeeze to release from the control panel (or in my case just give it a hard yank). I'd imagine you just plug it straight into the new panel, switch mounting plates and Bob's your uncle.
Fingers crossed. I will take the old one off tomorrow and see if the same 4 pin white connector matches. If so, will order asap before run back to UK in a few months.

The new controller comes with a short lead attached. Just unplug the old and replace with the new.

UPDATE Ordered controller yesterday and will arrive today. Autoterm emailed me to say can just plug in with supplied cable or open unit and replace supplied cable with already fitted (old) one. I will take photo's of install and post later. Thank you all for info.

I am a complete novice but swopped to the comfort controller a few months ago.
As mentioned above, it is completely plug and play and the fixing holes from the original controller pretty much lined up with the new one.
The only thing I had to do was enlarge the hole slightly in my backboard to get the new plug through, if I had thought to unplug the old cable from the back of the old controller then even that wouldn't have been necessary!
Recently the controller stopped working, quick call to Autoterm and I was advised to 'reboot' (the old unplugging for 30 seconds trick) all back up and running again now.

All sorted fitted and works a treat. It was a case of RTFM (man thing).... Looks great
