I'm afer a simple, quick to erect sun canopy with sides that can stand up to wind and rain.

2 that really stand out to me are the Outwell Touring Shelter and the Reimo Palm Beach.

@Ruby16 @ginkster @Alan C @True Romance @slocumjoseph - For those that have the Reimo Palm Beach, how do you find these in bad weather?

@moomin-j @czmate1999 @Dellmassive - Same queston for the Outwell Touring Shelter owners?

Thanks
The Reimo will lift in moderate winds. Only designed for fair weather imo.

Outwell - Touring Shelter Air

The latest addition to our growing collection of awnii, proved to be a great success on its maiden voyage to Camperjam.
Wifey is happy her bivvy loo tent goes underneath nicely, creating a useful rain run off zone.
Really useful space for those slightly warmer days out that don't require the big bugger. 10 minutes to set up and 10 to pack down.
Unlike her poled toilet tent which caused her grief!
£350 ish... It will be our go to for 3 dayers.
It's nailed to the floor, it was quite windy woo on occasion over the weekend, it flexed with the odd gust but wasn't going anywhere.

I have the Palm Beach 2 (lwb version) and only used it a handful of times, the last time it rained solid for a day and a half and was fine, not had it out in the wind as yet though so can`t comment

Thanks for the replies - @Drive Wayne ...Outwell Touring Air Shelter now ordered :)
It comes with a manual pump, but being lazy I use a dometic air pump which can be plugged into your cigarette lighter or mains. Makes life much easier!
I now have 5 assorted manual pumps should anyone want to collect one from WS9 !

Sorry re the late reply - just seen this...
Yes, we have an Outwell Touring Shelter (poled version) & we put it up every time we are away, be that for a quick weekend or a 1 week stay away.
We bought it August 2020 & have used it ever since.
Outwell now do an air beam version, as @Drive Wayne has.
It's bright and airy with the 1/2 clear sides & light coloured roof
The sides can be rolled & tied up if the weather is nice, as it doesn't come with a sewn in groundsheet.
It's easy to put up with a driveaway kit to an awning rail & I can do it myself if needs be.
It's seen some horrible wet / windy / stormy weather & held up brilliantly to pretty much everything.
It flexes well if its windy / raining, but has never let any water through the material.
The newer version on sale now is slightly smaller in the dimension sticking out of the van.
Something to consider, maybe?

Would I buy the same again - most definitely, as it fulfills all the moomin family needs.
As it is, I have actually bought a brand new in the bag "old version" as a spare. :D
Some young couple bought it, then decided campervan life wasn't their thing.

We bought this Vango Fistral XL at last week’s NEC Show. We wanted a driveaway awning with a front facing entrance that wasn’t too big but had a decent sized porch. We’d never seen this model before - it doesn’t feature in Vango’s catalogue - but it ticked all our boxes. Anyone have any feedback on this Vango awning?

@Captain Quick have you had a chance to try the awning yet? Happy with it? Does it work ok on an awning rail without catching in the sliding door?

Any feedback would be great as looking at getting one in the Cotswold sale. After something with a porch, quick to put up and a smaller pack size than my current huge air awning.

Yep. We’ve used it a couple of times now. It fits the Reimo Multirail perfectly. There is a bit of contact on the top door but not enough to cause any issues. Actually, I found a bit of 15mm pipe insulation fitted over the top of the sliding door prevents any possible contact with the awning when the door is open.

We have the poled version and it took us about 40 minutes to put it up the first time we pitched it. It was however much quicker the second time as we made sure it was packed away so we could lay out the groundsheet first (the way it came packed from the factory made it a bit of a nightmare to pitch first time). The thing we particularly like about it is that the main entrance faces forward so you don’t look at your next door neighbours. It is quite a generous size when erected which also means it takes up a fair amount of space in a holdall size bag.

Overall, it seems to be a worthwhile buy but we have concluded that we'll only use it when we stay somewhere for 3 nights or more.

These are my current choices for an Awning.

Can’t figure out which one to get.

Does the Galli 3 (I know it’s the older model) allow the front canopy to be zipped closed like the Pro?

Fiamma F43van for me, with the Fiamma privacy room. Lovely bit of kit, composite end caps that won't corrode and the magnetic crank handle socket is a joy to use.

Kampa Touring Air LH we have, just don't use it now, too big.
Our favourite go to for 3 or 4 nighters is the Outwell Touring Air raid Shelter, fantastic bit of kit, but no closable frontage. The Jormax gives that bit of privacy.

Have you looked at a Berghaus air 300.

Berghaus Telstar.

Think I’m going Galli CC II Air.
I strongly suggest go have a look at one already erected I have got through so many awnings thinking I like that one then realize it's to heavy or to large packed size worst of all does'nt fit the pitch built in groundsheet maybe limited to grass pitches only have a serious think before jumping in

we have a OR T4PC its similar size to the Vango Galli 3 air low. It came with extras like an extra door for the front. Its okay. we sleep in the van and my two teens boys have a room each. This leaves us just enough space for kit and kitchen stuff in the very front
