Just bumping this threat to see if any generation six owners have found a solution to this as I have the whole black wrap missing off my drivers side, I assume the garage removed it as it was scratched! And it’s taken me a long time to realise.

I went to van sign wrap place which (to be fair) said he would not do it as it needed a higher quality and thicker vinyl and due to my very tidy van he knew I would not be happy with it and so did not want to take my money

Or can anyone recommend a specialist wrap company in the northwest I could contact?

The 3M 1080 vinyl is really easy to work with in small pieces, I'd do it myself if I were you.
Get some knifeless tape to set the cut lines and have at it with a squeegee and a hot air gun, take your time and it will eventually come to you, for the price of a meter or so of vinyl you can afford to try a few times before you get it down pat. If it all goes wrong just pull it off and start again.

Little mod done today

Looks spot on. How has it been for wear and tear in the meantime?

Do you means the Decals to black out B pillar decals in either Gloss or Matt (fitted to front doors / slider to create an effect of blacked out B pillar), also available as stainless over clad as In Van X stylee ?

Hi, I do wraps and vehicle graphics for work it’s very hard to match paint codes with vinyl printing and will always be slightly off. I did do some magnetic signs on a transporter and they wanted to match paint colour a couple of years ago and pretty sure I used Avery Dennison SWF gloss metallic grey. I may even have some still left over. If you go to a place local to you that does wrapping they should have a swatch book which you could use to compare.
@Petezum may be able to help?

Yeah I possibly could but you’ll have to forgive my stupidity as I’m not quite sure what you after? Can you send a picture?

I'm getting a T6.1 California and want to put black vinyl between the windows on the sliding door and the front door. What looks better, matt or gloss black?

Here is a couple of photos. I was wondering more about the glass itself, would gloss black suit the glass better?

Depends entirely on the colour scheme of your Cali.

I have a ravenna blue with gloss black pop top, so the gloss black vinyl pillar works really well.

Mine are gloss black and as it’s an Edition they were factory fitted. They match the roof and decals so it all ties together.

Side of my Caravelle has a factory fitted gloss vinyl here to make the glass one visual strip.20230813_191703-01.jpeg

Gloss would definitely suit the glass better and give it a cohesive look. Fwiw the pillars on my Mk7 golf estate are covered in gloss black from the factory (hard plastic rather than vinyl) and it really blends the privacy glass at the back with the tinted fronts nicely.

I always think matte looks cheap, even those Maseratis people pay extra for matte paint!

I think this looks great.
I don’t have a wrapper in my area so just ordered them off eBay £13
Hopefully I will get a few years out of them.
