Battery control panel 0%

Are you getting the reading of 100% from the monitor. Have you access to a multimeter so you can check voltage at the battery .
How good is the battery itself. Have you let it go low too often.
Maybe it won't hold a charge any more and quickly drains when under load.

It could be the meter which has become open circuit from the battery. Check the meter's connections.

This is very likely the case, it's extremely unlikely any battery like this would actually manage to get to 0v. Check fuses/connections.

So it charged over night last night and was on 100% this morning but then suddenly drained to 0%. We found the connection of the battery capacity indicator and unplugged it and then re plugged it and it appears to be charging again now so I’m guessing it’s the battery capacity indicator that’s broke as opposed to the battery. We used the multimeter to test the battery and it was 12.4v so surely the battery itself is fine.

That's is a very possible solution. Once you have tested everything else, it has to be the last thing no matter how unbelievable.

Years ago I remember as a service engineer we visited a fish packing factory in Scunthorpe. Fish fingers were weighed to ensure their correct size. The machine had two sensors and took an average of them both. We didn't believe both sensors could become faulty at the same time, but after testing everything else it turned out both sensors were faulty.
Says a lot for design for manufacturer.
