Battery help for Dummies needed

If you have a Vivante, it will likely be under the rear driver side passenger / bench seat (whichever seat you have)
I've had a look under the bench behind the driver's seat.....there is an empty drawer to the left and a heater to the right of that, but I'm sure the leisure battery must be in there somewhere.....:)......under the seat behind the passenger seat is an empty cupboard......:)

Do you have a kitchen?
If so there’s a very good chance your leisure battery is under it somewhere.

Not too sure with the bench. Ours is the belted seat, you can lift the base of the seat up.

Does the seat base tilt up if you take the cushions off?

There's an empty compartment under the belted seat, nothing in there, will try and lift the seat base up and have a look. It wouldn't be under the driver's seat would it, something is under there

Diesel heater, if you have one?

No I don't have one, but am sure battery it is on the driver's side, as the safe is under the passenger seat and an empty drawer is under the seat behind that one. Will go and have a tinker about in van this week :)

Car = your van starter battery
Van = caravan ie your leisure battery

I would keep it set to van at all time to stop you flattening your main battery, to find the leisure battery can you get to the back of the control unit and trace the wires from there it’s probably under some furniture somewhere mine was hidden under a false floor in one of the cupboards on my previous van

Yes that's what CAB said you are both right (I was doing it wrong so thanks for the help). If I hook up to mains from the house the main (CAR) battery won't charge up but the leisure (VAN) one will, although I normally leave it set to OFF because I thought the main (CAR) battery will charge the leisure (VAN) battery while I'm driving the van. So it tops it up. Hope I've got it right now. It's nice to have the battery indicators then you don't get caught out. I try to keep them in the green all the time. Will try & trace wires to leisure battery. :)

So Hello again I've got my van back it started first time in the snow Woo :) Hoo

Hunt for Leisure battery, episode 2

So I've crawled around inside, and this is what I see......

Firstly, at the rear, the toilet with two boxes at the back of it ..........is one a leisure battery......or

Van Leisure.jpgVan leisure 3.jpg

secondly.........under the fridge there is a cupboard......it doesn't go back as far as the fridge, something could be behind it.......behind the white clips......

Van leisure 2.jpg

and then under the seat, the heater at one side, and an empty drawer

Van under seat.jpg

There is nothing under the driver's seat. Am I getting closer, or do I have to do some more crawling around on other side of van

:oops::)

Really is quite the mystery! Certainly well hidden!

Behind the loo is the 12v power supply / mains battery charger (the black thing) and the 240v Mains RCD / breaker panel (white thing).

There's nothing behind the under-fridge cupboard apart from maybe wires. (Mine and the newer vans have the Charger and Mains panel in that cupboard).

Assuming it is not under the passenger-side rear seat?

How do you get under the bench seat? The seat base must come up somehow. It will be behind the heater outlet or the drawer.
