Black Friday Service Plans

I'd say so yes. If that information is correct, 2 services cost £440, 1 small, 1 large. Buying that deal outright costs £319 which seems to be a great deal if you use your dealer for servicing.
Obviously that price won't include any extra work that the dealer finds outside normal service work.

My only concern is what they actually include on a large service? It seems that things like fuel filters, pollen filters, and even air filters are not changed as a matter of course on a large service, like they used to be. So, what is a large service now? Is it just a simple oil and filter change and then a slightly more involved inspection? I'm not actually sure because I service my own vehicles the old school way.

No fuel and air on a major is a joke

I'm not saying that's the case, I simply don't know.
Though I do agree if this is the case. Dealer service parts schedules are often totally different to how you or I would see a large service, yet the price isn't reduced. Worryingly, I read they don't even take off wheels to inspect brakes anymore, and just look from behind the wheel. This not only seems like half a job to me, but also explains why so many people cannot get wheels off hubs when they get flat tyres, due to them being seized.

Strange. I was told fuel and pollen filters were mileage related, and I'm sure it was a daft mileage like 65k or something.
Just goes to show you the varying degree of inconsistent information.

I’ve had two inspection services with different VW main dealers, on both occasions I’ve asked them to record the brake wear, both times they said yes they would only to be told afterwards that it wasn’t possible as the wheels aren’t removed!
Asked why they aren’t removed I was told it was to eliminate VWs responsibility in case of damage.....complete BS.
They then say you’re good for another 2 years driving. Obviously they are relying on the brake wear indicators.
I’ve used up the pre-paid service plan now so I’m avoiding main dealers from now on.
