Bypass relay failure

Hi all - just hooked up bike rack/storage box in preparation for a trip to Scotland next week to check the lights and my trailer board brake lights are on permanently - van lights working normal. Have checked everything through and I've foundgthat my pf Jones bypass relay is giving a 12v output on the brake light regardless of whether the brakes are on or not. Are these things prone to failure - this one might be quite old as I can't find anything similar online

I have not heard of any failing, but there is always a first.
Did you check the input to the relay from the brake light?

We had one go down , was about 7 years old and was due to moisture ingress I reckon .
Yours looks pretty dry .
Bought a new one online and swapped it out .

No Voltage on the red input but 12v on the output. Just in the process of installing a replacement - couldn't find like for like so having to splice it in
