I'd be asking for proof of at least 3 or 4 oil changes and 2 or 3 brake fluid changes. At 65,000 the cam belt is statistically unlikely to fail any time soon, despite it going a couple of years or so over the limit. Also check the MOT history with DVLA, to see if the mileage matches, and there are no anomalies in it.
Personally, I'd take a punt on it if all the other history is fine, and immediately change the cam belt, but as said above, the least risk is to get the owner to sort it first.

Because the VW workshop manual says do it at 210,000km without time limit, and the belt manufacturer says it was designed to last 10 years. See post #2 on this thread by @Loz. This is a UK only issue, all other markets follow the VW recommendation of inspection at every service and change at 210,000km without time limit. The issue in the UK only is that official dealers skip the belt inspection at every service.
Some early T6s had faulty belts. VW decided not to issue a recall, rather only advise owners who came into an official agency for service. A few of those who had service done elsewhere had their engines go bang.

I'm new to T6's but owned a T5 and T25's. What mileage do you change the cambelt and water pump on a VW 2.0 TDI 102PS Bluemotion T6? I'm considering purchasing one with 85K on the clock.
However, if it's a 180, that's a different kettle of fish.

Yes, 180PS. Early T6s were still fitted with Euro 5 engines. If it has Adblue, it's Euro 6 and not a 180PS.

Would that local VW specialist be VW Mad of Rochford? I need the same job doing and am near Chelmsford. ThanksVW Vans Chelmsford just quoted me £789 for cambelt and waterpump.
Got a price from my local VW specialist, using OEM parts, inc belt, pump and aux belt for £550.
Should be booked in at start of June

I have made a mistake…..
VW Mad of Rochford are not currently VAT registered nor can they update the DSR. Confirmed today.
This didn’t matter to me when I used them on my previous van as it was no longer under warranty, however my current van has the All-in plan so it seems I am not going to be able to use VW Mad on this occasion.
Shame, as I would much rather take it to them as a local trusted specialist who I have used before but VWUK are forcing my hand.
So, following on from my post above I now need to find somewhere to do my cambelt.
As much as I’d love to get @BognorMotors to do it, it is a 4.5hr round trip.
Although, I am a bit confused…..
The van was registered 22/05/2019 so by my maths it is 4 years old next week, and the job should be done at 4 years.
Not sure why then did the main dealer give me this when the van was serviced and mot‘d the other day…. says due November 2023

Mine is booked in for cam belt and water pump at VW Trafford Park in the morning , Just had a phone call off them telling me they have received notification from VW that they are no longer advising the 4 years rule an dits something like 120K Km and with mine being a 2018 with 36K mileage it doesn't need doing. . Booked the day off work etc could save £650 not having it done , it was only 3 weeks ago at the Preston VW van centre they told me I needed the cam belt and water pump changing before they would allow me to join the extended warranty plan

my 2019 Kombi has hit 50k. Got 6k before inclusive plan service although 4 years has just past so may book in early. Was expecting cam belt, water pump and DSG oil (wasn’t done at 40k) on top. Are VW now really saying 120k km with not time limit?
can I ask them to check the belt as part of the service provided?
