Hi all,
Very new to all this and wondering if anyone can give some advice please?
We’re struggling to find the SWB VW T6 interior we like together with a low mileage and not too silly a price, so we’re considering getting a company to do a conversion with the interior and extras that we’d want.
One of the companies we’ve looked at has a reasonable price and can do what we’re looking for, but I’m a bit concerned on some of the legalities.
The person doing the conversion has advised that the vehicle won’t need to be re-registered even though it is being modified from panel van to campervan (think this is now “van with windows”). When I pressed on the point, he said that it’s something that we would register after the sale. Not sure this sounds right.
Also, the company have advised that they don’t need to provide certificates for the gas and electric installation as it’s not legally required. I’m not sure if this is correct (it seems dangerous to not have these properly certificated).
My gut feeling is saying to leave well alone, but not sure if the guy is being completely above board and that this would all be normal.
Any thoughts?
Any recommendations for someone who’s completely above board with everything?
Kind regards,
Nicky
