Most signwriting vinyls will be either 3-5 year or 5-7 year quality.
Both use a permanent acrylic adhesive.
Warming the decal up to soften the adhesive is the way to go getting them off, but it may leave some residue behind.
Use mild solvents first to get the last of the goo off, starting with just warm soapy water then move up through isopropyl alcohol and then commercial adhesive removers rather than starting with acetone first and finding your paint rubs off.
