Harlyn Bay is worth a look, the surf school has links to local accommodation (other schools may do the same).

We stayed at High Harlyn, 10 to 15 mins walk to the beach - very good food places right by the beach makes it even better Can't vouch for the camping facilities as we stayed in a static. Large site, looked OK though.

We are at Ocean Pitch.

WHAT a campsite! We just walked back from body boarding in the sea. We walked bare foot as it’s only 5mins walk.

We ordered Curry from Biffs onsite (lovely hot food) and pizza from the wood fired pizza van in the next field.

We’ve camped a lot with our 2 kids and this is up there with the best.

We will be back. Your going to love it. The surf schools on the beach look brilliant and you can hire a board from Ocean Pitch if you fancy a go by yourself after some schooling!

Polzeath Cornwall, if you can get parked. There’s camp sites both sides of the village and definitely a surf school there too

Currently parked up a Polzeath in the Valley Caravan and Vamping park.
Can’t get much closer to the beach - teens could jog it in a minute!
