They are screwed into the floor but not just “simply screwed”! Inserts are screwed into the floor and then the units are bolted down to those so they can be screwed in and out again.Sorry to jump onto this post. I've been toying with the idea of designing my own furniture on CAD and sending it to be cut on a CNC machine. Once the ply floor is down, are the kitchen and bed units simply screwed into the floor or is there another method of securing the units?
I don’t have taller units so not an issue… although the ply guys now do some taller side units too.In particular the taller kitchen units (75cm). I can envisage screws pulling out of 12/18mm ply when cornering as the height and g-force could act as leverage.
Sometimes it’s good to think carefully!Or maybe I'm overthinking it?
Or I guess pronged tee nuts could be fitted to the underside of the ply floor and the units bolted down?![]()
I would have thought that for tall side units it might make sense to think about some sort of fixing to the SIDE rather than thinking any further about how to make the floor fixing even stronger?
