Can you name a job you've done on your van that was actually easier than you expected?

fuel filter replacement. i usually dread them but the van was easy even with the 4 pipes on the top

Changing the headlights was easier than I thought. Hardest job...............changing bulbs with sausage fingers was a pain !

headlight change was easier and quicker than expected, helped massively by the very informative THQ installation video for finding all the clips and screws

I've carried out a few maintenance / improvement jobs but I recall two that were easier than I expected;
Changing headlight bulbs (H4 upgrade to Nightbreakers)
Updating maps in the Discovery sat-nav

Oh and breaking a side indicator lens while prising it off!
Hi LDV. I've been going to ask anyone if new lamps can be fitted to my 2016 t6 to improve them rather than swapping the units?
Have the nightbreakers been an improvement, what was the cost, and which lamps are required?

I’m working through
5 months into van ownership and I've done a few things now:

1. Wheels
2. Roof rails
3. Carpet lined and insulated
4. Upgraded speakers/amp/sub
5. wrapped a few bits of exterior trim
6. Wind deflectors

All very different jobs but only one of them stands out as having been easer than I'd expected (climair wind deflectors, so good they moved me to poetry: Ode to Climair wind deflectors).

Literally every other job or sub-task in each job has proved to take 3-4 times longer than I'd planned and included more hurdles/issues than I'd anticipated.

Can anyone name a task that actually went better/easier/quicker than you'd expected? :)
a comprehensive list but the night heater install was easier than anticipated.

Hi KKev
So far I have not had the meed to drive my T6 at night but I have put Nightbreakers in my MX5 and in my daughter's Polo and yes, they are a worthwhile investment for around £20.00 a set (plus skinned knuckes in the case of my MX5)
You only need to swap out the H4 bulbs

Hope this helps

@Rosiecamper how easy was it to fit the night heater and have you a link to the one you bought,I'm thinking of fitting one myself this year

Hi. I purchased my heater direct from Planer themselves along with the under body mounting kit. I did not want to spend in excess of a grand and didn't fancy the cheaper "china" made version so this at around £650 suited my budget. It's very hot and more importantly very quiet.
The installation is covered on Youtube by a bloke from Planer and they are very informative. Make sure the tank is almost empty as it's easier to remove. I did mine on the drive with the van up on stands at all four corners. The whole thing went very smoothly.
Search Autoterm or Planer for the parts and I got the 2 KW version.
Hope this helps.
