we had the sliding window open behind the hobs, the sink lid was down as it had been numerous times when using the hob. i'd just climbed back into bed to wait for the kettle to boil and bang! glass fragments everywhere inside the van. The wind direction must have blown the gas flame under the closed lid and caused it to blow. very lucky escape and big lesson learned. nobody else to blaim but myself unfortunately
I think there’s a huge difference between putting a hot pan on heat resistant glass and heating it directly with a gas flame. Quick google says a blue flame from propane is 800-1000C
