Started ok reversed to get out of drive and stopped in the middle of the pavement, no error message or anything. Now Ignition is dead no response when key is in and turned on. Radio works, battery seems ok. Ignition relay fuse is ok. Any ideas. Can anyone help please.

Immobiliser?

Sorry, can't help any further myself.

How old is it? Do you have a warranty or breakdown cover?

So youve got dash lights etc but it won't turn over ? Starter motor maybe ? Or like manfrotto suggests something like inhibitor switch cuz its not in park (if it auto of course)

And the results of the testing? You need to post more information for people to try to help.

No dash lights.
not something like gear selector not in park, brake pedal depressed etc?
no nothing like that ! After breakdown gear selector wouldn’t move had to manually reset and move to N to move the van to a safe place!

"Battery seems ok" doesn't really say anything!

Any ideas where I can get hold of a wiring diagram?

I'd be checking the earth lead from the battery to the body. Dodgy earth leads can cause all sorts of issues and your van is of an age where a bit of corrosion might have set in.
Try your battery tester using the positive on the battery and a solid earth point on the engine.

Re my previous post, a quick, easy and free check would be to take a jump lead from your negative battery terminal to a known good earth point on the engine.
See if that makes any difference.
You've got little to lose.

Thanks DaveD. If there is corrosion will the remote and radio still work?

Possibly.
On the negative battery terminal you have the thick earth strap which earths the body and engine, but you have, (or should I say, I have) several other earth leads.
I've no idea what they do but if they earth the central locking and radio via a control unit, it is possible that a poor connection on the main earth strap would prevent the ignition / starter from working while other earth cables allowed the radio and central locking to work.
I don't see what you've got to lose by trying it, I could have tried it quicker than it took me to type that lot.

Thank your your time.

Before paying for a technician get a decent VW aware code reader like Carista/OBDeleven and see what the van is telling you.

Modern engines log any number of fault codes to tell you what's going on, that's often a lot bigger clue than the physical symptoms.
