Carista Evo Plugged In

Is it ok to leave the carista dongle plugged into the ODB port on the van all the time? I see it flashing blue even when the van is turned off so presumably the answer is that it would discharge the battery over time but wanted to check.

The original carista world user power 24/7 so would eventually ring the battery flat.

The newer Evo version is supposed to have a low power mode, what it goes to sleep.... But I've not tested it yet.

Thanks for replying. I've got one a few weeks ago so presume it is the newest version available. Been trying to peep in the window without opening the van to see if it's still flashing blue after an hour and so far it seems to stay on all the time with no sleep. Perhaps there's some setting in the app for putting it to sleep that I haven't set correctly.

The white carista is the older version 1 and the new are carissa Evo is the black unit.

Yeah - my black Evo also is like a christmas tree when the engine is off. Not tested to see about the 'low power mode' as battery is iffy as it is.

Carista Evo (black) consumes 16 mA when just awake. 23 mA when Bluetooth connection is active.
Asleep 3 mA.

Original Carista (white) consumes 36 mA day and night.

My Carista (black) is plugged in all the time - I have the DPF app that I sometimes start when I notice a regen happening, or if I think one should have started. However, two things with mine. Firstly I have an Ablemail trickle charger between the leisure battery (with solar) and the starter battery which protects the starter battery from the drain. Secondly, the Carista sometimes seems to go into a very deep sleep, or become totally unconscious, and I have to unplug it and plug it back in again to get it to be recognised in the app.
