Central locking not working via interior door switch. Locks but immediately unlocks!?

Hi all,

New to VW and hoping for some help!
I have a T6 startline 2017 panel van that I am starting to convert!

The auto locking function doesn't work when pulling off. Also, the interior drivers door switch locks the doors when pressed but immediately unlocks them??
Both front doors and tailgate lock via the remote but the sliding door doesn't, this has to be locked via the key in the barrel. Could this be preventing the system locking?
All door switched are registering through VCDS when its plugged in and are visible on the MFD screen.

I hope I have provided as much info as possible and that somebody has had a similar issue and can point me in some direction.

Autolock has to be activated in the options (using VCDS, OBD11 etc). Apologies if thats obvious and you've already checked its ticked.

Cant help on the other issues sorry
 
Id guess the microswitch in the sliding door is faulty/failing, the van needs the return signal from the door to know its locked
Not heard of it in rear doors before but have with the fronts
 
My 22-plate is switched to auto lock, but rarely does...seems to do it sometimes, but more than often doesn't!
Not tried investigating further yet...unless I'm missing something else I need to do to make it work apart from switching it on on the display??
 
Thanks for the replies! My issue is more with not being able to lock using the internal switch, I only mentioned the auto lock not working incase it was linked.

I will give @Pauly ‘s idea a looking at! Although I’m not convinced the locking mechanism is actuating or even attempting to when the central locking is activated using the internal switch or key fob!
So I’m assuming that ties in with the idea of no return signal?

Looks like I’m on the hunt for wiring diagrams now!
 
I have what is a very similar issue. It started out that when driving the doors would lock when reaching 10mph as I had turned the auto lock function on via Carista, however they would then unlock/lock/unlock/lock continually. To solve the issue I simply turned off the auto lock feature, as it wasn’t the end of the world. The van would still lock on the internal switch and on the key fob so was not too worried. Having been away camping in the van this last week the issue has now expanded in that I can’t lock the doors at night whilst sleeping inside by using the central locking switch, it locks but immediately unlocks all of the doors. The only way to combat it is to lock each of the doors individually via their knobs. Whilst the van still locks on the remote it is no longer deadlocking the doors. It is also a lottery as to what it’ll do when pressing unlock on the key fob. It is set for one press to unlock driver door and second press to unlock all other doors. Sometimes it will do what it is supposed to do, other times one press opens all of the doors.
I’m wondering if this is likely to be the door actuator switches as well, and if so, how hard are they to replace yourself? Looks like each switch is about £30 on fleabay. Haven’t scanned with Carista as to which door it says is giving an improbable signal yet as I need to resubscribe.

I am in the exact same situation as you, I can't lock the doors from inside the car and I don't know what to do?
 
I have the same issue, I can't lock the doors using the switches on the drivers door.

I think my fault started when I swapped the sliding door from a standard van door to a caravelle door. Is the wiring different?

Are there any measuring blocks in VCDS where I can see the condition of each door lock. I hope this may identify where my fault is.

I think a standard fault scan will likely highlight the issue, normally a dodgy contact in the central locking motor ?
 
Scan done and it does show some faults.

So it's all doors except the tailgate? Sounds unusual to me. Van locks ok with the key, just not with the switch on the drivers door. Any ideas??

Heated rear window isn't connected and I do have a DRL light out.
 
Clear them, bounce the locks again and rescan, hopefully just one door will come up

If poss i always recommend posting the full unedited auto scan (remove VIN up top if you want) then we can see all the details for each fault, freeze frame data helps to build a picture
 
Scanned the van again tonight. Codes didn't reappear during my drive to work.
Once I presses the button on the door top, these codes reappeared.

Any thoughts?

I tried locking the doors manually by pressing the door pins down, and then pressing the lock button. The locks don't bounce open, but I can press the button to open them.
I'm wondering if it's the coding? Did I change something when doing the barn door to tailgate conversion.
