Cleaning mould

Anyone know how to remove mould from pop top canvas I have a stubborn black line of mould a cross front of canvas. Just tried some general canvas cleaner with no joy. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The only thing I have found that really does remove mould is Detol mould and mildew remover.

be warned that the detol stuff is BLEACH based.

ie it may strip out any colour off material etc.

Test an area leave for the minimum time required to remove it then rinse thoroughly.

strangly i used it yesterday on some garden stuff. . .

it didnt do anything to the colour of these . . .

60’s throwback. The tie dye look. Cool ...But the likes of dettol are really hard surface cleaners....I’d have thought that all you pop top people would be using canvas type cleaners and restoratives ...Remembers years ago when Rag tops where fashionable you had to treat them or they faded and cracked ( and you got very wet  )

I'd agree with that, be careful what you use on a canvas poptop, some cleaners can remove some of the doping stuff (technical term :p) and you may need to treat that section again. Having said that, I noticed at the NEC show last year that a lot of new poptops seemed to be nylon or similar which should be ok. I know these would be more waterproof than canvas but I did wonder at the time whether they end up being a bit hot and sweaty when up top.
