Clunking suspension and oil everywhere

Picked up van having had a new clutch and flywheel put in. Garage also said the stabiliser links and tensioner need to be replaced too. Happy to go along with that.

Now got a clunking sound and rattle any time I go over even a pot hole. Had a look underneath and found all this oil everywhere too. Garage done something wrong?

If you think there is oil coming out have you checked all your fluid levels?

It looks like CV joint grease, are the bolts loose for the inner joint or missing? I think the bolts for the drive shaft may not be tight

That's not good.....

You need to find out where that's coming from.

Back to the garage asap me thinks.

Get it back to the garage ASAP. That’s grease from the CV joint. Could just be a split in the boot or a the joint is about to fail. Either way avoid driving it until fixed

Seems they broke the CV boot when taking the drive shaft apart. Also didn’t do up the roll bar links properly which was the clunking noise

One garage to cross off your list then, that’s the defects that you know about so far.

Garage reckon they will pay for it to be fixed elsewhere, but want to see an invoice / quote first (As I live 150 miles from where it got towed to!). Any idea how much this will be? I've been told it's easier to replace a drive shaft than a CV gator, even though it's a bigger part?

The shaft has to come off to change the inner boot. I’d push for a new shaft on the grounds that you’ve lost the lubrication and almost certainly introduced contaminants.
If I were doing it myself I’d strip it, clean, inspect, new grease and fit a new boot. Garage labour costs often means perfectly serviceable parts are scrapped.
