Coming From The Dark Side...

Welcome, I too had a disco (3) engine seized missed it loads but did not miss the constant waiting for something to go wrong and trying twins ££££ every time. You were will love the T6

So finally put my order in with Swiss vans last week, 204 dsg, comfort dash, twin sliders and a few nice styling and soundproofing goodies.
Not quite the full spec I was after but we’ll pleased.
Just the 7 week wait now :(

The reason we bought the Yeti was the D5. We'd had 8 Discos dating back to 1991, all new. We got an invite to a preview of the D5 as our D4 was ready for changing. We walked into the showroom & saw the D5 for the first time. So we had some sandwiches & a drink, walked out, went to the Skoda garage & ordered the Yeti. I don't know what the bloke who designed the D5 was on, but it wasn't planet earth.

I agree with you, until I was on a game shoot, and saw a dark blue model in the field, with mud caked up the sides of the vehicle. It looked really cool actually!

Hi fish, thanks mate, got them fitted by a local vw specialist in my home town (Andover, Hampshire) the owner is a transporter nut and is a top guy, I’ve been messing round with ride heights all day after fitting the inovits...now we’ll chuffed!

Bob on mate.. well done.. they look super clean and sweet.
How's the ride now?.

You considered ARB's?.

I can’t believe the handling and quality of the ride, it’s nice and firm without being crashy, even over uneven roads.
Not wound down fully, about 4 threads left of adjustment on the back and 15mm on the front.
Arbs next maybe but very happy with it now, just can’t believe I’ve just spent another £2.5k a week after getting a £42k motor!!

LOVE the alloys, I've just picked mine up two weeks ago, dying to put the b14s on and still in search of alloys, to turn this kombi from a taxi into how a VW T6 should look!! what alloys are they? size, and wheel sizes too! look really good and not too silly.

Hi @CALLAKN, they are inovit revolves in satin black, staggered set, 8.5 fronts and 10 rears, got them from Matt at Stanced uk

Do a forum search for inovit, that’s where I got the info from, load rated for T32 as well:unsure:

First thread i read has said theyre not load rated!! apparently 860kg is the min for the rears on a T32..

Wherever I buy a my alloys in the end, I will be asking for a certificate or at least proof on the wheels that they’re stamped with the correct load rating! Cheers dude

Hi Guys,

Great forum
After years of Landrover ownership I’m about to sign on the dotted for a T6 Kombi hopefully!.
Loved the Landy show scene and forum communities, just disillusioned with the cost of running and replacing my Discovery 4.
A recent blown engine and a £10k bill finally made up my mind!.
Looking forward to chatting with you all.

Steve
Welcome, we are the same, though we still own our trusty disco 300tdi and would never but any disco newer, we have a t6 lwb shuttle and it seems to be a hell of a lot cheaper than Landover ownershipbut no major issues yet. Forums here seem to be exceptionally busy and learning a lot from them.
