cooling door pockets?

Now Can't work this one out. The door pockets that hold the rather handy VW free supplied drinks container.....

Is the door a cooled door pocket when the engine is running? The cup holder is cold after a while. The base of the door pockets are also cold. Can't work out if its just the outside!

I believe it is a door pocket option for the barn doors.

Mines a tailgate though. It did spec the special door pockets but was told this wasn't allowed due to the tailgate. Maybe they have me the cooling doors anyway?
