Creaking front end when steering and rocking van

I've had my 2018 T6 in at the garage with some noise, vibration and steering issues that started suddenly last Monday:

- Wandering steering
- Creaking from the front end when steering
- Cabin vibrations
- Creaking when rocking the van side to side

The garage found n/s/f track rod end play and o/s/r coil spring broken. They've replaced the coil spring and the track rod end and done the wheel alignment. The steering has improved, but I'm still getting the creaking noises from the front end when steering at low speeds and if I rock the van side to side, and I'm getting clattering vibrations in the cabin.

One of the things I noticed in the paperwork was an advisory note after doing the work that says "slight play in rack end". Anyone know what that means and if it could be the cause of the remaining front end symptoms I'm getting? The creaking only starts after about 15 minutes of driving the van. I'm going to be taking it back in, obviously, but the creaking noise was not present when I left the garage this evening and wasn't present when the garage were investigating. It came back within about 15 minutes of leaving!

When the vans rocking …… . Sorry :) . The best way to identify the creaking noise is with two people one rocking and one getting underneath - preferably on a vehicle lift not on a single point jack! I had a similar is on my T5.1 and turned out to be the anti roll bar mounting bushes. Most creaking suspension comes down to a dry mounting bush and possibly a dried out metal spherical joint. Good luck

Turned out to be lower ball joints on both sides causing the creaking. The garaged greased them, the noise went away, so they're due to be replaced now. Sorted.
Thanks for updating us all - it adds to the pool of knowledge available for others with similar issues. Glad you got it sorted.
