CTEK D250SE - Still having dramas, despite the very helpful forums!

why have you got a 30A fuse on the solar input top left? - you can remove that. (solar VOC 23v max)

starter battery should be connected bottom left. (12v)

body ground should be top right. (0v)

leisure battery should ne bottom right (12v)

can you show what the battery select cable is connected too?

and the smart alt cable?

get a multimeter and check the readings referenced to a known good body ground point (ie seat bolt etc) - with engine running.

solar in =
starter in =
ground =
aux out =

the LED readout says that the AUX battery is being charged via solar . .

Hi Forum folks,

I have a Ctek 250SE fitted and a single solar panel 120w. The issue I have is that CTEK lighting sequence never performs the way is states in the (not overly useful manual). I have a constant flashing red light with a constant Green power light (see attached), this sequence is not mentioned in the manual. I have yet to see this sequence change and I am not confident the solar charging works. Any ideas? The leisure battery charges and I regularly get 12.7 volts (AGM Gel, 120Ah) but the ctek device never appears to show any other sequence as per manual i.e. power saving mode, Solar charging, etc. I have asked Ctek but they have been vague as well, any ideas ?

100W panel arrived yesterday, just want to double check something before I stick the panel on the roof

Checked OC voltage which was below max C-Tek voltage as expected for 100W panel

Connected it up temporarily, all lights showing as expected (orange lights on solar and battery) and appeared to trickle charge battery although slowly, disconnected solar panel and the lights stayed illuminated

Solar light turned off after I started the car thus triggering the B2B charging, is this normal?

My lights appear to work as expected, orange light on A and Battery when charging from starter battery and the same for solar with orange for Solar and battery lit up

Pretty sure the sequence of lights you describe is an error condition (you didn’t attach the picture BTW). See page 12 in the manual.
might be worth checking the connections to your leisure battery. Also worth checking all the earth connections to be sure they are all common and good electrical connection.

what Amp rate is the CTEK charger? 4A,8A etc etc?

if below 10A it could well the 24hours or more?

got a few pics?
